The Wayne County Auditor’s Office will be closed for staff training on Friday, October 1st, 2021 from 9:30 am until 2:30 pm.

During these hours the lock boxes outside of the office may be utilized. 


Conveyance fee increase effective Oct 1, 2021

The Board of Wayne County Commissioners increased the real property transfer tax (conveyance
fee) from two dollars per thousand to four dollars per thousand on the transfer of real property and
manufactured homes. The Board approved the effective date of October 1, 2021, for the increase
of the property transfer tax.

Jarra Underwood, Wayne County Auditor, has announced the 2020 Tax Year Property Values. 

The “Search” link at the top of the page can be utilized to navigate to your property’s data. Once on your property, the “Valuation” tab will display your tentative value (Total Land & Imp Value). If the property is reduced by the Current Agricultural Use Valuation (CAUV), your tentative value will be listed as Total Value (adjusted for CAUV). If your property has had activity during the last year such as new construction, buildings destroyed, property split/combined - it may not be reflected in your tentative value at this time.

  • ALERT: Auditor Underwood urges dog owners to be cautious when purchasing dog licenses online. No outside vendors legally sell dog licenses in Wayne County. We have had reports of an online vendor fraudulently selling licenses to unsuspecting dog owners. Click here for a statement regarding this scam.
  • ALERT: We have had reports of recorded deed notices being received by property owners in the county. These notices offer a copy of your deed and property assessment information for a "document fee". These notices are not affiliated with our office and this information can be obtained from the Auditor's and Recorder's Offices for a minimal fee (or often, free of charge).   • We are pleased to announce that we have partnered with the Ohio Treasurer of State's Ohio Checkbook project. The Ohio Checkbook provides transparency into government spending. Expenditures from 2020 will soon be added to our dataset. You can access our Ohio Checkbook site here.
  • ALERT: Some potentially fraudulent tax value notices have been mailed to Wayne County property owners, claiming their properties are over valued. These companies claim to be accredited through the BBB. If you are in doubt, please contact the BBB, or the Wayne County Auditor's Office, to confirm the validity of any such notices. Please note that there is NO FEE for filing an appeal with the Auditor's Office.
